BAM visits flood-affected areas to urgently assist debtors.

BAM visited flood-affected areas where debtors reside in several provinces in Thailand to acknowledge and assess the situation. The company is ready to provide assistance to debtors on a case-by-case basis, depending on the impact each debtor experiences. The company also visited several affected communities to donate essential items and drinking water, alleviating their initial suffering.

Mr. Bundit Anantamongkol, Chief Executive Officer of Bangkok Commercial Asset Management Public Company Limited (BAM) revealed that regarding BAM’s assistance provided to flood-affected debtors in several areas of Thailand, especially in the northern region, he has now appointed regional offices to urgently visit the areas to acknowledge problems customers have been faced with, both debtors who have restructured their debts and customers who have purchased BAM’s assets in installments, as well as seeing to what extent they have been affected. He has also asked the company’s officers to urgently report back the problems of debtors and customers in order to assess the situation and issue urgent measures to provide assistance. If any debtors or customers have been affected by the incident, assistance and debt repayment relief measures will be considered on a case-by-case basis to alleviate their suffering.

Mr. Anantamongkol stated: “BAM is concerned about debtors and customers as well as the communities in flood-stricken areas. Therefore, we have ordered regional offices in affected areas to urgently provide initial assistance. For other additional support measures, officers can submit requests for approval to provide assistance in terms of debt repayment conditions to alleviate the suffering of debtors and customers. Previously, BAM saw the need to issue additional measures to help vulnerable debtors during the period when the economy has not fully recovered by announcing a 0.25% interest rate reduction for 6 months, effective from June 1 to November 30, 2024, for debtors who have restructured their debts and are still making repayments to BAM. Debtors who meet the conditions set by BAM will automatically receive a reduction in interest rates as announced by BAM. Moreover, in addition to debtors and customers who purchase assets through an installment program with BAM, BAM has also prepared assistance to those flood-affected by donating relief bags containing essential items and drinking water to the general public”.
