“Somporn Moonsrikaew” appointed new President of BAM

          The Board of Directors of Bangkok Commercial Asset Management Public Company Limited or BAM, with approval from the Ministry of Finance, appointed Mr. Somporn Moonsrikaew as the President of the company at its ninth meeting of 2018 on May 18, 2018. This would be effective from June 1, 2018.

          Mr. Somporn Moonsrikaew, who is currently 58 years old, earned a master’s degree in public administration from National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA). The newly-appointed President started working for BAM since its inception in 1998 as the manager of the Warin Chamrap Office of the Regional Loan Restructuring Department (Northeastern Region). Later on, in 2004, he became the Vice President of the Regional Loan Restructuring Department (Northeastern Region). In 2007, he was the Vice President of the Regional Loan Restructuring Department (Lower Northern Region) and was promoted to the position of Executive Vice President of Sales Group and to the position of Acting Executive Vice President of Property Management Group.

          In 2009, he served as the Executive Vice President of the Regional Loan Restructuring Group, and in 2011, he was promoted to Senior Executive Vice President of the Regional Loan Restructuring Group. In 2012, he served as the Senior Executive Vice President of the Regional Loan Restructuring Group and the Acting Senior Executive Vice President of the Head Office Loan Restructuring Group. He, later on, served as the Senior Executive Vice President of Sales and Property Management Group in 2013 and as the Senior Executive Vice President of Sales Group in 2015 and was appointed as the President on June 1, 2018.

          With regard to training, he has been trained in several senior management training courses such as the 17th Financial Executive Development Program (FINEX), a course in marketing management, creating corporate image, and modern customer relations for executives from public and private sectors, a course in driving strategies for success, a course in fiscal and monetary policies in the era of perspective transition from the past to the future, and so forth.

          Mr. Somporn Moonsrikaew stated that "BAM aims to become the country's best asset management company,” with an objective of benefiting the country and the society. In connection with his appointment as the President, Mr. Somporn will continue to fulfil the aim by focusing on the development of human resources and technological systems so as to support the company’s conditions of being a public company and for the company to serve as a pillar in the management of distressed assets in the economic system of the country.
