BAM responded to the government’s policy helping low income earners to own home by cooperating with Community Organizations Development Institute (CODI) to support Baan Mankhong project aiming for a long-term solution of community issues.
May 26, 2017, Mr. Somporn Moonsrikaew, BAM’s senior executive vice president, together with a team visited the development site of Bann Mankhong Housing Cooperatives project on Ladprao 101 road, Bangkapi district, and discussed on the potential approach to support the project with the director of CODI Mr. Thanut Narueponpong.
Mr. Somporn Moonsrikaew revealed that BAM, as a government’s organization under the supervision of the Bank of Thailand, had already been aware of the government policy and willing to support low-income earners to own home. According to the meeting with CODI, BAM affirmed that it would supply vacant land plots and condominium units, which were in line with CODI’s objective. BAM also intended to launch CSR project for the development of environment and strengthening Baan Mankhong’s community.
Recently, CODI had offered to buy 5 of BAM’s vacant land plots: 4 from Bueng Nai Pol area, and the other from Bang Yai, Nonthaburi. The two organizations had agreed to stay in touch for future business regarding to this project. This collaboration between BAM and CODI would provide low-income earners with alternatives to own home along with better quality of life. However, the selling price on units Baan Mankhong project would be closely considered afterwards.
